Do any members give their piggies Flaked peas and Locust Beans ?/
I read someone on here warned about the beans as piggies can choke on them :(
Found a website that do both and they've just turned up in a nice big box so thinking of stuffing their little Christmas stockings with little treat parcels :x
Never tried them on either before so just looking for some advice.
Thanks peeps :)

I have not tried them but I would avoid them as guinea pigs are not meant to have beans.

Locust beans are seed husks, not actual beans so are not a problem food wise - they are supposed to taste a bit like chocolate - they don't! They can however get stuck on teeth and be a nuisance, I don't feed them except to the gerbil.

Flaked peas are great as a treat - very fattening so only as a treat.

I use dried carrot treats for the piggies and my lot love them, I don't bother with any other sort of treat as at best most of them are a waste of money or at worst are really problematic (hard seeds can choke, ones containing honey/glucose to stick them together are too high in sugars).

Think I'll just give them the peas then in moderation - two colleagues I work with have hamsters so will give them the beans :)
Thank you for your answers and advice :)p
