loft area / sleeping. cozy area

I just created a new Section with a loft area and water bowl on the bottom and ramp. so it's fairly new
JP will only uses it if I put hay of treats but never willingly like goes up to the loft or below. any ideas what I can do to get him to use it more to lay down there? I know it's hard but trying to create the bigger area for his hay play etc. and then this area to sleep hang out

Some guineas don't like ramps unfortunately. It could be uncomfortably steep for him. Idk since I don't have a picture of it.

Videos have to be on Youtube, I think, and then the link provided here rather than being uploaded onto the forum directly - the latter doesn't work.

I agree with mrs tiggy winkle.

We cannot host video on the forum - you need to upload to YouTube first and then post a link to it here. Video hosting is costly and as a forum we cannot do it.
Or you can just add some picture directly to this thread.

Piggies are not natural climbers and some will never like to use ramps. They are ground dwelling animals by nature and prefer single level living.
They also won’t know what intention you have for the area. He will naturally just want to hang out on ground level where the hay is.

I’ve added our ramps thread which is about making sure they are at the right gradient and covered.

Ramps in Cages and Hutches

I put a loft up for one of my pairs once. I was taken down a couple of weeks later as they never wanted to use it

I did have ramps latterly in all my cage conglomerations. Particularly younger piggies loved the ramps and top floor as additional space for zoomies. I had more of an additional floor than little loft space. All of my piggies including oldies liked to lie on the top floor for the view apparently.
