So my babies are enjoying the Scottish sun today out in the garden. Lola is my fattest little piggy and is extremely greedy but even I was shocked to find her happily munching on a thistle in my garden. Not a milk one just a normal one, is this ok? She seemed quite taken with it but we've covered it up just now.

If I were you I would monitor her and if she seems to be acting as if she's distressed or in pain take her to the vets straight away. If you are concerned why not phone the vets to ask for their opinion. Hope this helps :)

Thistles can be eaten but most animals would only eat them if there was nothing else more tasty such as fresh grass.
