I find myself here again sooner than I would have liked. I've come to say goodbye to Lola. She came to me with Angel, she was only 4 months old, but unknown to me, she was already 3 weeks pregnant with Rebel. She took to motherhood brilliantly despite still being a baby herself. We lost Angel and Rebel in December and she was lost with out them. We rescued Alfie and she had a new lease of life. Things were going great and the 2 of them were soon causing mayhem in the shed. At the start of the week, I noticed something wasn't quite right, she wasn't as chirpy as usual, she was usually very vocal at feeding time, but she was off her food. Tuesday she was out on the lawn as normal, but she still wasn't her usual self. Wednesday, she went down hill sharpish, after I'd left for work, she had a stroke and was bleeding profusely from her back passage. She was settled down for the night and I checked her this morning when I got up. She couldn't use her back legs. She was taken to the vet where a ruptured ovarian cyst was diagnosed, she was in pain and it was decided to let her go and help her over the bridge. She was four and a half. Here is her last photo, taken this morning before we left for the vet, still looking cheeky despite being in pain. Night night Lolo, we'll miss you, reunited with Barty, Angel, Rebel and Betty. Sleep tight Princess.
