Hi, new to this forum and after some advice. We had a pair of pigs, boy and girl, but sadly at the very start of lockdown our poor boy died. Our lovely lady is now sad and alone, and we have no way of getting her a new friend with lockdown. She has a teddy bear, but it’s not the same! Advice? In Staffordshire, UK.

I am so sorry for your loss.

While you likely won’t be able to get her a new friend while this is going on, you could get in contact with some rescue centres and enquire about their availability and get your name on their list as looking to bond her with a new friend once it is possible to do so.

In the meantime, all you can really do is spend lots of time with your girl. I’ll add in some links below with some information on looking after a bereaved piggy and enrichment ideas that may help to keep her occupied

I believe you can reserve a piggie at some RSPCA centres and just wait for the lock down, you then have first dibs.

Welcome to the forum.
So sorry for your loss and that lockdown has made a sad situation harder for you

So sorry about the situation you are in :( I too lost a piggy during lockdown which made it harder but thankfully I have two remaining piggies so they have each other.

All I can suggest is spending as much time as possible with your girl x
