Hey :)
So last week Molly, one of my 2 girls passed away for unknown reasons really. She was only just over 2 and always seemed healthy, maybe it was just her time :( So Maisey is all on her own now. I've got her a little friend called Minny who is so beautiful but i'm still working on integrating them.
However Maisey seems really sad and isn't eating out of her bowl at all unless I bring her inside and hand feed her, also her poos seem a little weird but i'm not entirely sure so i'll add a delightful picture for your opinions. She seems very down when in her hutch too, but as happy as normal when i bring her inside for a play with Minny, other than having the odd peck at her which is to be expected.
Are these poos normal? They seem softer and sort of egg shaped. Does her behavior sound normal?

Here's my babies just so you can see their cuteness. Maisey being the Brown one and Minny the white.

I'm not unduly concerned about those poos .

You say you are starting to integrate your 2 sows - do they seem to be getting on?

Is there a way of keeping them both inside? side by side for now if need be?

The poos could indicate a slightly slower gut transit if she isn't eating as much. If she was inside it would be easier to monitor her food intake and poo output.

Quite well yes! Considering the age gap i'm very happy. Only had them together on neutral territory and there's been a few little nibbles from Maisey but nothing vicious. Keeping them apart at night but concerned Maisey is getting very lonely, hence the not eating.

I've been trying to get them together inside as much as possible but with work etc its difficult. And I have a Jack Russell who thinks the piggies are his new squeaky toy. The hutch is actually in the garage so it's protected from most of the elements so i'm not too worried about the little one being out there. I guess just keep a real close eye on Maisey for a few more days? I'm hoping to have them living together by the end of the week at the latest, little by little i suppose.

Hopefully once they are together permanently you will see an improvement.

here are you based ? Are you happy to add your location to your profile ? We have members from all over the world and it is really helpful to know whether you are based in the UK/US – or elsewhere. Having an idea of your Country + location can sometimes help us tailor our advice .

My Guinea PIgs are housed in a hutch in a shed . I'd love to have them indoors - but OH won't allow it !

I live in Sheffield . I keep meaning to post pictures of my hutch. I have heating in my shed .
