my Guinea pig recently lost her sister who was her bonded partner to cancer unexpectedly . She is six years old and is now feeling lonely . She is still eating and drinking but less outgoing than she used to be . I wanted to adopt a similarly aged piggie for her however cannot find any that are around her age and I don’t want to adopt younger Guinea pigs as the cycle would repeat . I don’t want to let go of her but would it be better to have her rehomed to someone with Guinea pigs or due to her old age should I keep her for the time she has left , even if we don’t find another partner for her

I’m sorry for your loss.
Have you called the rescue centres? A lot of them don’t advertise single piggies on their websites.

There may also be the possibility of fostering a friend for her from a rescue. That way, the age of the piggy doesn’t matter. You foster a friend for her and then when your piggy passes away, you just return the foster to the rescue (who will then be rebonded and rehomed). You have thereby ended your piggy cycle.

It’s a hard decision when you need to end the cycle.
I would follow @Piggies&buns suggestion and explore fostering.
Hope you can find a solution for your girl.
I am sorry for your loss of her sister.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve
