my 2 new piggies have long hair i allso have a long haired cashmere lop who needs to be groomed weekly (and his fur is still gunna need a cut :( ) i didnt know there were long haired as i didnt get pics, do they need grooming as well if so how do i go about it as my piggies are still very nervous

I have short-haired piggies so I normally groom them just once a week.

As you have long-haired piggies you will find that you probably have to groom them more than this - to prevent their hair from becoming matted/knotted. You will also need to ensure that their hair is kept trimmed. You will need to pay special attention to around the bottom area - as you will know piggies aren't that fussy what they sit in! :))

They will required to be bathed more often that short-haired and I can highly recommend Gorgeous Guineas' products:

Some other members who have long-haired guinea pigs might be able to give some handy advice.

Some of mine are long haired, and you do have to groom them very regulary, they do very easily get knotted around the bum.

I find if i miss it then their fur becomes course and feels horrible

oh they were bathd before coming to me, i cant bring them in doors so how do i doit out doors ?

i wouldn't do it until it is warm. As long as they haven't got lice then just leave them. You could find that when you start to groom them then that will help tame them. They will be really hard to get hold of but once you have just hold them firmly as they could suddenly jump off you and gently talk to them and they should settle down.

thanks hun :D i am ust to grooming as i need to hold troy firm to do him, he was very tame when i got him and grooming wasnt too bad he sat still, maybe if they see troy not minding it ?
