I'm not sure what went on last night with 2 of my piggies but my sheltie looked a right mess today her hair fluffed everywhere! Nothing a brush up wont fix I checked her over again as I do regularly she loves the tunnel and sitting in mess of course its stuck in her fur.

Those with shelties do you ever trim their hair and from what age? I don't think it goes as long as peruvian ive just been brushing and making sure all is well

I have a Sheltie and she is the same, always hay stuck in her hair. I brush her hair about 4 times a week, she actually likes it as long as you don’t brush her back end near her bum, then she protests. She gets her hair trimmed about once a month and I use a beard trimmer in summer on a long setting

Following @Betsy 's guide and @Bill & Ted 's advice on the beard trimmer, Blodwen and Jezzy got a trim using cordless men's hair clippers on a no.4 setting in the summer when it was too hot to be floofy (Jezzy) or slept-in-a-bush dishevelled rapunzel style (Blodwen) and it worked very well :)
Blodwen should look like @Bill & Ted 's Posh, and she wants to look like that, but... she doesnt lol she always looks like she's been snapped by an unforgiving paparazzi sleeping in a bush on her way to rehab bless her!

Aw surely not, bless her, she’s gorgeous 😂

That is quite the summer cut, she looks so pretty. with the heat indoors I did get portable air con last year as was over 30 for many days inside I will definitely need to make sure sheltie especially does not start to feel the heat.

hair clippers seems way to go, is 4 one inch?

When I give Betsy her summer "do" (she is the model in the Haircutting Guide) it's a Grade 4.

I’m not sure what Grade it is? Some bits of Posh had the Shawn look tbh but she was really pleased with it as it was soo hot. Once done she did a little jig and was a lot livelier than normal. Here she is with newly bonded Ted and Ginger
