OMG i visited the pet store today to buy some new water bottles and for the first time ever i got to hold a longhaired Abyssinian. I'm not sure of the breed exactly; they look like some type of longhaired and Abyssinian mix. Anyway...i was so in love and their coat is so different, so soft! I was a bit disturbed though but not surprised that the poor little babies hair was already matted due to poor care! In addition, when i asked if the last two cavies they had were sold i was notified that they had died from some kind of illness and they were only a couple of months old! Right then i felt like buying all four of the new piggies they had but my husband gave me "the look"...as i already have 6 and 3 are pregnant and i have refused to rehome them. Instead i'm expanding...i just feel like they are my family and i want to keep them! Plus, there isn’t anyone I know that takes animal care serious enough to give them to!

Poor babies! It is hard to walk away - but even harder to save them all! :(

I think that you are talking about perus (or peruvians). I have three of them.

This is Tegan at 3 months old and that is her as an adult with auntie and mum:

OMG yes...your beautiful pigs look like them only they are just babies so their hair is shorter! (Gorgeous cavies by the way) I cannot even focus at work now because i can’t stop thinking about them! Usually i'll do something dramatic like spend money i do not have buying them and getting them a proper cage until i can find a home for them, which may never happen! OMG i NEED at least too though! I've also asked if i could visit them this weekend to take care of their hair (it's so matted) which is probably why i can’t see it's true length!
