Someone asked me to take in 2 boars as their kids had lost interest. She said there were 4 together but she had managed to rehome 2 so she wanted rid of the last 2. As she took them out of the car she said that she had just noticed one has a little sore on his back. I took them out of the carrier they were soaking wet as they had no newspaper or hay in there. They are off to the vets first thing, they have eaten me out of hout and home. The pictures do not do them justice as it is 100 times worse in the flesh so to speak. Please send all the vibes you can to these poor boys,

On the next picture the red bit on his nose is a massive chunk that has been bitten off his nose, when up close you can see his teeth through it.

Oh those poor poor boys, how she could even pretend to have 'just noticed' beggars belief.

I'm sending them all my love and best wishes and hope they are on the road to recovery soon.

sue thats awfull, good lukc at the vet,i may have met you there but i dont think i need any more meds for troy as he has started to eat,

poor things hope they get better soon, kids losing interest, thats what they do so as the gronw up you take them on,minnie isnt all ways interested lol

They are in soooo much pain with it, they scream and try to bite me when i pick them up. You wouldn't believe how much they have eaten, they are now seperate as when she gave them to me in the carrier they were fighting. They have eaten in one night what it takes 2 normal piggies to eat in 2 days. they don't feel really skinny but i know they are underweight, tho i havn't weighed them yet as didn't want to stress them to much so will do it at the vets tomorrow. They were shocked when i took in the one with sore nipples, well they have seen nothing yet!

they do know you rehome? you brining all thease pets in lol, id love to see there faces

Lol yes they do know, i have a special rescue account set up with them. I have been going to them for over 12 years so we are all on first name basis. They just roll their eyes at me now lol

Disgraceful! A severe case of mites I expect! How could you not notice! Give me strength! It's cruelty plain and simple! I hope they get sorted out, poor little things! :(

Poor poor little piggies I do hope that they will be ok and I know that they are now in safe hands. Please keep posting news of them and their progress.

I wonder what the other 2 look like........:x

at least these to have found their Guinea pig angel....rolleyesxx>>>

Oh my goodness. Doesn't only look like the kids lost intrest - thank god the woman decided to do at least one last responsible thing for these two lads. I don't understand how you managed to keep your cool when you saw them.

Best of healing vibes going out to these boys, get well soon lads!

I am really worried about the other two as well, i just pray someone has taken them who has a heart and will take them to the vets.

These 2 are going at 10.10. I a really hoping they don't say bath them as this will be horrendous(sp). I have read on the Thistle cavie site that bathing them will help in the long run. I will let you know hw i get on at the vets.

i was shocked when i saw the pics of them! blimbey!

hope they get better soon bless them :(

Poor piggies! I had to laugh (in shock) at the womans comment - "A little sore on the back"...oh really?!

Bless you for taking them in, do let us know what the vets say.

Aww these poor boys :( How can people be so heartless and let them get in to this state in the first place :x Sending lots of vibes their way. Please keep us updated with their vet visit today xx

The poor sweethearts 8... They must be in agony :( I'm horrified at what the poor things are going through :( some people are just totally EVIL.
I hope the poor little darlings pain is under control soon and that they can heal quickly with the vets help and your TLC x :)

The bits on their back may well be due to fighting I have had several boars come in like this with extreme fur pulling and nipping at the back end although a mite treatment would be adviseable anyway, good luck with them.

A boar who came in with fight wounds to his rear he was housed in a pen of 8 boars. I used a topical antiseptic cream on him and he healed well.

Maybe some metcam for the pain too?

Hope all goes well at the vets

OMG :x ok enough said
Thank goodness they've found you darling girl, their saviour xx>>>xx>>>
I wish you all the best, it's going to take lots of TLC, meds and heaps of your time to get these poor little darlings to come around and trust humans and know all about regular food again :(

Now for that in humane person i say this %#)(*&_#%^*(_#%&_#
yep unprintable i'm absolutely furious it makes me ill and at same time want to yell, but hey they'd not listen to us cause people like this only care for themselves malletheadmallethead

How can some people let things go this far?

All the best for those poor two boys!
Sending my vibes!

After the visit to the vets they are now on Xeno for 2 weeks, and Baytril for minimum of three weeks, twice a day each. Their sores are deeply infected.

Wandered does anyone know if there is anything i can very gently rub on their back to help ease the discomfort and itchiness? They do have a few open sore though so would not put anything on them.

Thanks for all your kind coments. I will keep you updated with how they go.

i really have had nightmares all night over this, that poor, poor piggie. he must be in so much pain. thank goodness he's found his way over to you. i am in floods of tears for this poor boy

Oh what an absolute shame for those poor wee gps :( at least they are in caring hands now. Kids losing interest is no excuse for just forgetting an animal, with the correct encouragement and guidance from adults, kids can be shown what it is like to be responsible, i know i was and my children are now too. As for easing their itchy skin i wonder if infant starflower cream might help, it truely worked wonders on my wee boys sore skin after trying all sorts of prescriptions.

You could email Gorgeous Guineas and ask Chrissie's advice, I think the Aloe Vera Gel may be of use. I used the GG Aloe Vera on Willa's sore fungal bald patch, it worked a treat. I have also had success with Bepanthen on various sores, that's something you can get quickly from almost anywhere.

these two came in to me last year, apparently the womans daughter was allergic to their fur!

Oh poor little boys that is awful :( I wonder how long they've been enduring that? Poor little things, some people just need a good shake. Or perhaps something more 'to the point'.
I hope they heal up and feel better soon
Sending healing cuddles

I phoned the woman who gave me the boys. I told her they had fungel which is highly contagious(sp)(little white lie) and i need the phone numbers of the other people who took the other two boys to warn them.

Sadly she told me one had died(not really a surprise at the state of them) and she would ring the other lady who took the other one to let her know. I told her to tell her that if she didn't want the hassle of treating the g.p then i would take him. Hopefully the new owner will either treat or hand to me, i just pray she doesn't leave him.

Oh, ****! Poor guy that died!-

Hope the other one CAN be saved! Good on you for the phone call!
