Look what my foster girl suprised me with ...

I knew my foster girl was pregnant, but was expecting to wait another week. I opened her hutch to check on her and there was this little thing laying on the floor ... it took me a minuet to process what had happened. Then i ran up and down the garden going "Oh my god it's a baby!" I could have cried with excitement.

Her mummy is only about 15/16 weeks old and i was worried she wouldn't take to her baby but she's being really good and sitting with her little one constantly and she's let her suckle. I'll try and get a pic of Mama in a few days to show you once she's settled into her role. I am so proud of her.

I'm pretty sure baby is a girl but i only took a quick glance i will double check tomorrow and weigh her/him

Alabama's (mummy) baby is indeed a gorgeous little sow! She weighs around 75-80 grams and is feeding well, infact each time i've gone to check she's been at the milk bar. I am so chuffed to bits with mummy-pig, she IS only a baby and i've felt so sorry for her but she's doing a grand job so far The little one has been named Dixie.

Many congrats, what a little cutie.x) Our rescue girlie Autumn was only a baby when she had Alvin, but she coped admirably - it's so sad when they are caught at such a young age, they are only babies themselves.
