Woke up this morning to find my cat with something in her mouth (nothing unusual shes forever bringing in 'presents') My OH had tried to get it from her but she kept running off, i managed to get her to bring it over to me and when i finally managed to prize it from her jaws i was shocked to find a tiny little hamster a little wet but still alive! We scooped her up and popped her into a shoe box with a blanket and some kitchen roll and left her alone to let her calm down. After about half hour we gave her a bit to drink and she seemed alot happier. We then popped to pets at home to get her a little home and have called her 'LUCKY'.

Here she is:

She is always bringing things in and usually leaves them in a few 'bits' in the kitchen which i usually tell her off for so i was very suprised to find her with a hamster today which thankfully she hadnt harmed and little 'Lucky' was juat a little soggy :)

What a lucky hamster!:) It was so lucky that the cat did not kill it! It must be a very friendly cat!:)) Have you got any ideas about where the cat found it?

I expected a guinea pig :)), but oh my goodness a hamster how gorgeous x). That certainly is one Lucky hamster!

wow - a winter white? i think or campbell?

ive got a lil dwarf winterwhite... diwali is her name! lucky is appropriate! bless * for taking her in (assuming its a her)

can i borrow your cat next time my hamster escapes :))
ps a warning my hamster is a little russian dwarf similar to yours and they like to escape!

we have no idea at all where she came from ive had these before and know about their escaping habits lol il be keeping a close eye on her. Definately prefer a live gift than her usual ones :)

i am going away at the weekend do you think she will be ok to come along in the car?

good good i dont want to leave her behind although my mum will be staying behind to be slave to my other animals i dont want to risk my cat getting her again!

Wow what a shock a hamster! Wonder where he/she came from, lucky you saved him! :))

He is one very lucky hamster indeed. :)

We have no idea where she has come from but we dont mind we have grown quite attached to her, its not everyday your cat gets you a new pet!

unfortunately i have come home today and lucky had taken a bad turn, she had dry blood around her nose and her eye was stuck shut with blood also. We have gave her little cuddles and she sounds as if she has fluid in her lungs so guessing its internal bleeding. We can no longer do anything for her, we so hoped that she would be ok. :(

thanks guys, we was hoping she would be fine but obviously our cat did more damage than we thought, we have just covered her cage with a little blanket to give her some peace poor little girl.

I'm so sorry. Poor little thing. She will know that you have tried to help her though.
