Well, they say people take after their pets. Since lockdown if I lay on my back my belly too looks just like the girls, except mine is thankfully not hairy. I'd laid them like that to trim their nails. I've found it's the only way I can do it. Thankfully they don't seem to mind so long as I'm quick

They are so cute! Just be careful though, as laying on their back can put pressure on their spine (I believe I’ve read somewhere that in some cases it can even break or really damage their spine). Make sure that their heads are elevated too, as their heads should stay above their heart.
My piggies hate having their nails clipped, the front ones are always a nightmare!

Thanks. I didn't know about their spine. You can't see in the photo but my knees were a bit bent to keep their heads up a bit. I usually get a guinea pig keeping friend or the vet to trim their nails because it scares me doing them especially when they move and wriggle at just the wrong time. I have a mild hand tremor which makes me doing it a bit dodgy. But atm it's a case of needs must. Hopefully I can take them somewhere for their next trim. And yes, the front ones are especially hard to do on these girls too.
