I couldnt help myself :red

I was looking at hutches and thinking of buying one so I had a spare (so I can put a pair of piggies in) and still thinking of creating a piggie area in the garden infront of the shed, my spring project of course and I ended up bidding (lost thank god) on one :red. I was looking for some cheap ones so I could do what I did with the one I have, to do it up and make it how I want it but ther wasnt anything suitable, but there was a really nice 4ft x 2 ft double level one - finding one that is 2ft wide is like hens teeth.

Whats really daft is I dont have any piggies to put in this new hutch and since I want to get them from rescue I doubt I would be allowed any rescue piggies anyway and then I will be dissapointed and stuck with an empty hutch.

Please stop me someone rolleyes:red

Do you mind saying why you don't think you would be allowed rescue piggies?

I had a home check last year from my local rspca branch and handed them the written permission from my landlord regarding keeping the animals on the property. I stupidly let them keep the letter and I dont want to ask him again for another one :red so I dont have written proof of permission.

I had to do this when I adopted pepper many many moons ago, but have had 2 homechecks since when looking to adopt a second dog, by 2 different dog rescues and they didnt need written permission proof so I never thought about it till the other day when I realised that most rescues would probably need to see the letter.

Big ooops

How fab are they :))

I have managed to step away from the draw of buying hutches, its winter, I need to make an inside pen (which I am planning, but may never finalise), I also want to sort the garden out so its pig and dog friendly and keeping this in my mind puts into perspective the value of patience. I dont want to rush out and get something to find that I have an empty hutch for no reason, or a spare pen - although it would be handy to have around if a foster is needed.

I also need to concentrate on getting a younger car, this is priority as now my washers have stopped working for some weird reason :{ its a new minor problem each week I have to fix (or rather get someone else to do it). I really love my gang and I love having piggies so much I know why I want more, but then its more mouths to stuff veggies in, more pigs to wash, more to clean out and cuddle - ok thats a good point but you get what I mean and I really dont do things like this on a whym so lots and lots of thinking and planning to go then maybe come the spring I will be ready to decide what I am going to do.

Doesnt stop me window shopping though :red or hoping I would be considered by a rescue without the permission letter (stupid, stupid person :red )

Why not ring a couple of rescues and ask? Or you could take on some unwanted piggies from free ads (although that's slightly riskier as they would not be health checked or quarantined). I got a pair of boars just before Christmas that had been made homeless due to a divorce, and they are lovely!

I could ring and ask - your not helping me stopping wanting more piggies :red:))

I dont really want to go on the free ads as I could also just go to the closest person selling, sorry if I sound snobby, I would rather rescue if I can, flash was a rescue and the piggies before the trio of girls were rescues too.

But like I say, big believer in things happening for a reason, I lost the bidding on the hutch I was looking at, then found my car has yet another thing going wrong so priorities have shifted completely to getting one that works properly - else I cant do any more piggy trains or help out.

Or maybe I go another route come the spring, if I have a hutch I might be able to foster for a rescue and that way I help out.
