looking for a friend for hawkeye

I have not fallen off the face of the earth, just have had a few hard days.... its fall here and both my migrines and copd have been making life interesting! hawkeye is doing good eathing well and drinking so i was thinking it would be a good time to get another gunie pig...and yes that is misspelled lol so we have been calling the pet stores near here and iv been googling femail gunie pigs for sale or adoption, the pet store we got raidar and hawkeye dosnt have any right now another store we called only had male guine pigs and hawkeye is female... i have a cat 3 dogs and hawkeye my darling husband was kind enough to let me get ginniepigs in the first place( i think its in self defence as all of my chilren are grown and he DOSNT want me to be MOTHERING HIM!) and he wasnt upset when we found out we should really have 2 as they are social animals and the very next day he went and got hawkeye... like i said we have been looking all day today looking for a femail gunnie pig...near by... spike finally found one place abou 40 miles away which isnt to bad but all they had where males so the search goes on.... poor hawkeye will have to be lonely for awhile i will countue to look on line to see if i canfind someplace that might have a femail guinne pig for adoption or sale and now I'm going to grab some cough medicne and lie down for a bit before i start cutting the dogs hair...they are all long haired dogs and they hate to have there fur combed and wiggle and squille trying to get away....so i keep there fur cut short the vet gave me some pills to help calm then down so its time to get grooming stuff out and make them a bit more comforable.... if they fight that to much i'll have to call a groomer they cerently cant stay with tangled and a matted fur ahh if they would all just lie next to me in my chair like there doing now itwould be so much easer! but the mnute they see he brush they all scurry away in hopes that i will forget about them lol iv told them that IF they would take the example of ivy our cat they would just groom themselves and wouldnt need to have there hair cut! but not to worry i have allkinds of dog cloths in many different sizes so they wont freeze outside when winter really hits us....this will be there first winter with us so i'll have to see how they do
 
well hawkeye is doing well iv got her in the play pen now and i cleaned out her cage found some fleece in the craft room so took the beddingout and used the fleece that will make leaning her cage much easer and hopefully keep the hubby from asking ever few minutes if I'm doing alright! gezzz lol youd think i was on my death bed they way he acts lol ahh well hes a dear well not much else going on around here hope everything is going well for everyone else
 
well so far still no luck finding a friend for hawkeye but we will still keep looking you wouldnt think itd be this hard to find a little femail guinne pig! I heald her for awhile again this morning she must really miss having a friend as she didn t try to run away from me or try to get off my lap poor hawkeye well back to the search that has to be a femail guinne pig out there somewhere!
 
well it looks like hawkeye is going to be a lonely little piggy for awhile...i have done an intense search for guinie pigs for sale or adoption within a 100 miles from here to no avail...I dont do much driving and at 78 spike no longer feels comfortable driving to far from home or in big towns with lots of traffic....you can find places to buy guine pigs on line and have them shipped to you but i dont know about doing that as theres no way to tell if they look healthy or if they have medical problems ...i'lkeep looking but it dosn look promiseing....iv never had so much trouble adopting or buying an animal in my life! i'll try googling guine pigs near me as google seems to be a good search engin...in the mean time any help tips and such for helping a single guinnie pig to be happy and healthy alone will be gladly appreciated '
 
Hi I'm sorry you're not well and hope you'll soon be feeling better and that grooming isn't going to plan it can be difficult 💐
 
What a shame you've not found a friend yet I'll look to add a link about enrichment for Hawkeye and a single guinea link but fingers crossed a friend will be found soon. Did you have a local based Facebook page just for your area? Maybe you could reach out on there if so 😴
 
The humane society of West Michigan had some guinea pigs last time I checked
 
huum i never think of myself as being sick....i have copd a lung condiion to me its anoying....hubby keeps telling me i have to learn to slow down and try to do just one thing at a time and then rest inbetween...hes probly right but a life time moving fast and doing multi things at a time is hard to break lol so i keep my inhaler handy and mumble and grumble a lot lol
and yes grooming can be a pain but the vet gave me some meds to give to the dogs just before grooming that will slow them down some and mae it easer for me to groom them

The winter definitely is a tough season with those of us who are chronically ill or disabled, so I understand where you're coming from! I hope you are able to take care of yourself this season and get through fine. I would check local shelters as well and see if they have any that are available for adoption. Keep us updated!
