Hi, about two weeks ago I got another guinea pig, a boy, to add to my 2. They were fine until Wednesday night when they had a fight. So the new boy has been separated. I don’t want to put them back together because he bit one of my other boys. So now he is by himself but I would like to get him a friend. He is 8 months old so I’m not sure if I should wait a few months and see if he calms down as he is a bit crazy :D
Anyway, does anyone know of any guinea pig rescues in Lincoln who would be willing to see who he gets on with?

Hi!
Boar trios are unfortunately a recipe for disaster, especially as sub-adults. Even as adults, you have more fails than success as long as the testosterone is flowing.
Adding More Guinea Pigs Or Merging Pairs – What Works And What Not?
Boars: Teenage, Bullying, Fighting, Fall-outs And What Next?

Your best place for dating for you is Cavy Corner in Doncaster. It is well worth the journey as you will be in very experienced and safe hands there; best make it a day out! Please don't wait too long. youngsters are desperate to belong and no piggy is wired to live on their own.
By rescue dating at a good standard rescue (which Cavy Corner is your closest), you can be assured that you only come home if acceptance has happened and you come home with a properly sexed, healthy and personality compatible friend. You also have the rescue at your back if you run into major trouble for the whole duration of your adoptee's life. That is a lot of service you'll get for a little extra effort.

Thank you, I will contact Cavy Corner. I actually follow them on Facebook but I didn’t realise they were in Doncaster! :D

Best place a long way around! I have been to their events regularly for a number of years now and been to their 'Caviary' too. ;)

They replied. They don’t have any single boars suitable for bonding at the moment.

Just be patient and ask Sue to inform you when they have. Until then, keep your single next to the other two for interaction and stimulation through the bars so he is not becoming depressed. ;)

He is right next to them. He keeps chewing on the bars though wanting to in with them. I am getting a new bigger cage delivered today so hopefully he finds something else to do

He'll settle down in a day or two.

It won't be all that long before all the Christmas baby piggies pale and/or hit the teenage months and rescues start filling up fast with no longer wanted youngsters. :(

I will wait :)
I feel sorry for him though. I thought about getting one from the pets at home adoption bit but they can’t meet each other before that way and if they don’t get on I can’t keep them separately. :(

Please don’t risk a failed bonding. Far better to wait until a single boar is available for a supervised bonding at Cavy Corner.
