So I introduced my boar to his new wives and there was a fight. Everyone is settled great now, but then I noticed the trouble eating veggies and saw the teeth. I am pretty sure the fight is the cause of the teeth trauma. The loose and broken tooth are both the top front ones. He is eating his hay, drinking, and I'm giving the matchstick size and cut up veggies. I'm also syringing watered pellets. Poops normal so far.

The problem is my trusted vet is off for holiday vacation and the soonest I can get in to be seen is about 10 days. So during this time I'm not sure how to care for him. My big concern is the loose tooth. It is out from the top of his gums, but is still attached by the back of it. Does that make sense? So it is loose from the top but stuck at the back so it folds out. The broke tooth there is a little white left out from the top of the gums. So nothing to be done. It looks like a clean break.

Anything I can do for the loose tooth? I know it must be annoying, painful, and scary if it somehow detaches and he eats it?

Hi!

I would recommend that you try to see another vet with any loose incisor.

Please keep in mind that incisors are about 4 cm (1 1/2 inches) long and run along the upper and lower jaw with their roots at the back in a row with the premolars and molar teeth. While a clean break is usually not a problem and in most cases will grow back quickly, a loose incisor needs to be checked because the break is below the surface and can actually be some way back.
The vet may want to gently clip the loose tooth so it cannot catch and damage the gum to keep your piggy safe until youy regular vet is back.

Tried 2 different vets and the emergency vet almost 2 hours away is a joke. The one bad vet can see him in 6 days- the exotics are booked from the holiday. But I do not trust them as they messed up my sow when she had ringworm and my friend's ferret. They even say ringworm can be killed with glass cleaner and just goes away after couple of weeks. So I am really stuck I guess of just keep doing what I am.

The loose tooth really needs to be removed by a vet as it will be very painful for piggie, he also needs some painkiller. Keep looking out for a vet, ring around and ask them to call you if there are any cancellations x
