Is it normal for piggies to shed their fur more at this time of year? Because Sherberts fur is coming off in chunks, just picking her up and stroking her i got absolutely covered in her hair. Neither of my other two are losing any more fur than normal but Sherbert does have very long think fur for a short haired piggy. I checked her over and there are no bald patches or obvious skin irritation and she seems fine in herself. Just never witnessed this much hair coming off a piggy. Its all over their cage too. Any ideas?
Thanks

Guinea pigs can shed a lot of fur when they are stressed out; this lasts for a day or two, but the piggy will not develop thinned out fur or bald patches.

Some piggies also shed fur seasonally, but not all. Both phenomena are evenly spread all over the body and you do not get thinned out fur or bald patches.

It can be the very early stages of fungal or mites, so please keep an eye out. In this case, thinned out fur and/or bald patches will develop.

Thank you. I'll definately be keeping an eye on her and give them all a good check over for any mites or fungal.
