I recently lost my guinea pig Lenny. I adopted him from a guinea pig sanctuary where they mistook him for a female, so he has many babies out there. Around his first birthday I found a lump on him, so I took him to the vets and they did tests which came back inconclusive. This meant that they had to put him under anesthetic to remove the lump to take it for tests to ensure it wasn't more serious. After the operation he went back to his normal self. He was so loving and had the sweetest nature. A couple of months later the lump came back and the vet said that it needed to be removed again, so he went back under to have it removed. During this he stopped breathing but the vet managed to bring him back but told me she didn't think he was going to make it through the night. That night I sat with him, trying to get him to eat or drink, but sadly he passed away in my arms. He was so loved, and I cherish every moment I had with him
