There is a member on this forum at present who is seriously getting on my nerves and arguing most of the expert advice here. I’m at the stage now that I want to have a go. It’s driving me nuts. Please advise as I don’t want to upset members. But my goodness I’d love a taser right now 😱

Thank you. Where can I find the report button?
On one of the posts that you are upset about, look in the bottom left hand corner and you will see the word ‘Report’.
Click that and a box will appear for you to say why you are reporting

You may not be the only person but we never know what goes on behind the scenes.
The admin and mods are very good at confidentiality which is as it should be.

If you find you would prefer not to see a particular member’s posts, there is a very useful function on the forum called the “Ignore” Button. If you click on the member’s username, it will bring up their details plus the “follow” button and the “Ignore” button. If you click on “Ignore” you will no longer see their threads or posts. At times many of us use this feature. I just wish at times we had one in real life :lol!:

I think I know who you mean @Winniepeg. I stopped reading the thread this morning as this member was winding me up big style and I felt as you do!

That’s good to know. Thank you.

The ignore button is great ☺️🤭 try not to let people get to you. It can be hard sometimes, but for your own peace you can walk away. That’s the benefit of being online. It’s not so easy face to face.

Thank you. I’ve done over 40 years service in the NHS and prided myself as having the patience of a saint. Not least because the last couple of years has been working with older adults with dementia. Bless their hearts conversations are repetitive because they forget so easily. I’m blessed to have worked with such lovely ladies and gentlemen. Believe me though I don’t suffer fools gladly 🤯

Thank you . I would have no problem dealing with it face to face. I am so tempted to respond to the person but didn’t want to upset my valued piggie lovers here

Leave it. I don’t think it would make you feel better.

Always best to step back if someone is annoying you, also if you ever accidentally annoy someone else which I'm sure all of us do from time to time!
Online interactions are tricky because things can easily be misinterpreted, and we dont always know who we are talking to or how they will react to things!
Certain younger new members especially may not be used to talking to adults online or otherwise and may even have lied about their age to be here, sometimes we all get the impression that certain new members are rather rude 13 year olds... but until proven otherwise all we can do is be welcoming and provide good advice, but the staff are always aware what's going on and monitoring the posts!

Thanks all. I’ve selected to ignore the person in question. My concern is for the piggies. I am confident that you will continue to give the best advice. Whether they abide by it is cause for concern ☹️

@Winniepeg I am fairly certain i know who you mean, and I agree that it is deeply frustrating.
I have also now decided to walk away from the thread, and if we are talking about the same person then please also know that the staff are fully aware of the situation and keeping a close eye on it.
Sometimes all we can do if offer sensible support and advice and hope something gets through.

Everyone has a right to an opinion. If you give them all the information they need, there isn’t much more you can do. Expect the worst and hope for the best.

Go drool over some piggy pictures. 7D1AD1BE-DB42-424B-910B-24A428A0B816.webp996B6DC1-E03F-45E8-99D8-80A7AECCA447.webpC583318C-8A77-4F0B-B743-C0585218C622.webp1CD7B739-7D53-4905-8A21-2CA6FA6F40D4.webp

I think I might have been getting wound up by the same person... thanks for pointing out the function of the ignore button, y'all.

There are people out there where I just... well, one time I was petsitting someone's cockatiel and just... casually never returned him. Wish I could offer to "petsit" for this person. 😅

I have seen the thread I think it is and could see a storm brewing . I'm 99% sure I'm right on what one. Asking for advice and then getting defensive when it isn't what they want to hear . Could be the situation that person is in that is causing the defensiveness . ( Their previous thread )

Don’t go chasing storms.
