It’s a difficult situation
I’m watching him bound about just now …getting in Geoff’s way …who is snoozing 😂 and trying to demolish the carrot cottage
You’d never know he has his lump

Earlier he let me check it and he didn’t react so it’s not painful - it does move from side to side and isn’t pressing on anything , which was my concern.
It’s below his throat and I guess it’s making sure it doesnt grow rapidly
I’ll think I’ll have another chat to the Vet and see what she thinks
He’s such a little stress bucket that I’d rather not put him thru a ga to get a blood sample and further biopsy if we could just monitor the lump.
The Vet did say with guinea pigs that their arteries and veins are so small that if she couldn’t get a sample the normal way she’d have to access the vena cava which is from the heart ! So that is scary.

He’s going to be 4 in September so it’s been great that he’s been well up to now
 
So…..having thought about everything and chatted to some people
I’ve decided I'm going to just keep a careful eye on Freddy and this lump

I’ve read the test report and it was a poor sample so that’s why it’s inconclusive
To reinvestigate the lump inclu slice biopsy, gen anaesthetic, medication, blood test, testing the biopsy would be £730
X-rays and scan would be on top of that it seems.
Then he might need another gen anaesthetic to remove the lump along with more meds.
Sadly I just haven’t got that amount of money as the initial cost of the consultation and special lab test was £245
I do put money away but my previous vet fund was wiped out with Bobby so I started from scratch in 2025
I have some vet fund money but not quite the amount I think I’d need.

Freddy is a sweet boy who is very wriggly and easily stressed
It would break my heart putting him thru the initial gen anaesthetic if he didn’t survive.
I’ll keep giving him a little top up for a while as he’s maintaining his weight now
He’s eating, drinking, weeing and pooping as normal

I’ll watch him …..❤️

I must admit I’ve taken to enjoying some oats at bedtime
I’m used to being cajoled into a cuddle sack and having some syringe food 2 times a day …but guess this ………piggy momma sings to me 🤭I think she thinks it’ll settle me ….it does I’m quite liking that too 😂
