Lost a tooth

Oh dear... I thought it would be too good to be true that Bumble could do a leap for freedom, smack her face and come off with just cuts and grazes :...

She's now lost her top left tooth sometime between 9pm last night and now. Have found it in the cage when I was putting her back too. :(

Think I will get her into the vets either Friday evening for when I go to collect Peter or Saturday morning to get them to check the rest of her mouth now its healed quite a bit.

I don't think its urgent because she is still happy enough in herself, flirting with Peter through the bars and eating. Her weight is healthy and she's on metcam at the moment anyway which will help with any pain.

Anyone got any tips for me or know of any problems that can occur because of broken or lost teeth that I should be looking out for?
 
Make sure that the other tooth is not wobbly (in this case it needs to be seen by a vet). A clear break will grow back within a few days.

Weigh her daily to make sure that she is eating properly. If necessary, cut veg into very small chunks or mush up the pellets if she can't cope with them.

Just got her out again and weighed her, no weight change at all. Have had a feel of the other tooth and it doesn't seem wobbly to me but I'm not an expert so she will go to the vets. It didn't look like a clean break and we have tried to flush her mouth because theres a spot there but we think it might be a blood scab
 
she's booked in at the vets Friday evening for when I go to pick Peter up after his neutering so fingers crossed it all goes well
 
As long as her teeth are not wobbly, they will simply grow back within a few days and will start to self sharpen as soon as they meet again.

Until then, keep an eye on how well she can pick up things and chew, but it is generally easier if only one tooth is affected.

Thanks Wiebke you seem to be a font of knowledge on here and certainly help put my mind at ease. I did have a feel of her other tooth (didn't think about how she could have bit me if it hurt - just didn't cross my mind when I'm worried about my baby girl :))) and it didn't feel wobbly but I'll certainly know more in a couple of days and post an update. One of my friends has dubbed her "bumbling fool" cos she keeps getting up to mischief and spends so much time at the vets
 
Yes it's still a good idea to take Bumble to be checked out, just so they can make sure she's done no damage to her other toofie! gosh these piggies eh! rolleyes
If she seems to struggle at all, grate or cut up food into smaller pieces so she can eat them......... best of luck little girlie XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
