Hi everyone,

So a day ago I noticed one of Coconut's top front teeth were loose. The next time I checked, it was gone. This morning, I checked again, and the other tooth beside the loose tooth fell out. So basically she has no teeth on the top front. I have been chopping her veggies up into tiny pieces, she still eating heartily, thank god. I'm monitoring her weight everyday, and watching her while she's eating. I'm not sure what to do right now...please help!

Thanks for helping Coconut out.

I am going to tag our 2 dental experts @furryfriends (TEAS) and @MintyAndGarry (TEAS) to help but I think there was a thread on here a few days ago and someone said that they will actually grow back really quickly. It sounds like you are doing all the right things and it is great that she is eating her hay.

Assuming that they are going to grow back, they should do fairly quickly. In the meantime, keep an eye on her to see if there are any signs of her incisors growing back. As the lower teeth will have nothing to wear against, they may become overgrown, so may need some attention. It would be handy for you to take a picture of her incisors as they are now, while she is eating normally, as a point of reference for you. Keep her diet the same as she has been on, as you are doing - see what she does if you put in larger pieces of veg (carrot, cucumber etc.) to see if she is able to manage to tackle them using just her bottom incisors. This would mean that they would at least be getting some wear in the meantime, until her other teeth decide what they are doing!

Thank you so much! x

I tried giving Coconut a piece of cucumber, she couldn't bite it. She can't even bite off a piece of lettuce. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks for helping. :) Sorry I quoted your post twice.
