Lost our little hamster today

I hope this is ok to post as I know it’s not a Guinea pig. We lost our hamster Chesney today at 2 years and 7 months old. We had a vet appointment booked for him this evening as he had been suffering from wet tail which wasn’t improving but he passed away before we could get him there.
He was 1 of a kind and the friendliest hamster you could ever wish for. We will miss him dearly.
Scurry free little man ❤️❤️

I know, it’s funny how you can go for years without losing any and then it comes all at once 😞 I’m devastated to lose 2 pets so close together. Thank you x
 
So sorry for your loss. He was a remarkable age for a hamster.
They are such cute little creatures and certainly work their way into your heart.
 
Thanks so much. I totally agree, a hamster can mean just as much to you as any other animal, he was certainly special and a big loss to our lives xx

Hes a good looking little guy. Sorry for your loss, i have lost a couple of hamsters before to wet tail, nasty problem
 
I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful little boy, what a stunner. Huge hugs to you at this really sad time, I know he had the most amazing life with you.

Reminds me of my hamster who was around the same age when he died, he was so friendly, much love and good luck, sorry for your loss.

It really doesn't matter how small or big, young or old they are, it's just heartbreaking when they go.
