Lost two pigs this month

Just to let you know today I had to have my oldest pig,Hillary put to sleep. This morning I found her paralysed from the waist down and knew it was her time. She was always the gentlest and happiest of pigs and I miss her incredibly already. I got her when I still had my very first pig , the lethal Patrick, so this is like the end of an era. She was a ditsy little lady who made it to 7 yrs old but still always seemed like a baby to me.image.webps

I am very sorry for your losses! The current hot weather is so hard for any older frail piggies; underlying problems can suddenly come to the fore! :(

You always feel like you are losing your previous piggies all over again when the last direct connection to them passes away.
 
Thanks for your kind words. It's so true I do feel like I've lost the last link to my other pigs I lost before. Hillary was old and I know it was her time unlike when I lost Ken a few weeks ago, who was still just a baby and who I thought I'd have for many more years. It's so hard to let them go but they'll never be forgotten.
 
I’m so sorry that your old lady has gone. It’s very hard when the last piggy of an era leaves you. So sorry that you had to make the decision but undoubtedly it was the kindest thing for her. Huge hugs xx
 
I'm so sorry for your losses. To lose one piggy is hard but to lose 2 so close together must be devastating. 7 is a great age for a piggy. When my Boris died he to was 7 and the last link to my first piggy Twiglet, I was heartbroken so I do understand how you feel. Sending you hugs.

Thanks again. I forgot to mention that my skinny pig, Jeremy is just getting over pneumonia as well so it's not been a fun few weeks . The Kind words and having people understand really helps though 💗

To lose tow piggies so close together is really awful. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little ones, they had a wonderful life with you.

so sorry to hear your sad news. They leave such a big hole in our hearts when they leave us, to lose two close together must be devastating. Sending you hugs.

So sorry for the loss of Harriet, especially so close to Ken.
Look after yourself and give yourself time to grieve for them.
They were lucky piggies to share your life.
 
Thank you. Jeremy has been off his antibiotics for a couple of days now and the vet couldn't hear anything on his lungs , so fingers crossed he's on the mend.image.webpg
 
Thank you . Some people find skinny pigs abit weird but I think they're gorgeous 💗 Even our vet had never met one before seeing Jeremy. I really do hope he's better now I've been so worried and now I'm paranoid, every time he makes a strange noise or is a bit quiet I think he's sick. 😳
 
Glad to hear that Jeremy is on the mend.
You must be so relieved.
Hope he’s back to normal soon now.
