I don’t understand why she’s gone.
I don’t know what was wrong, I took her to the vets yesterday evening but they couldn’t find a problem.
I thought she might be okay, I had a little hope last night.
This morning 5am she was dying. And then she was gone. It was awful. She’s only 2 years old.
Who’s going to be crazy Lottie now? Who’s going to push the box off the top level ten times a day. Who’s going to wheeek so loud it hurts my ears. Who’s going to be Emily’s best friend.. she misses you already. Who’s going to boss Lionheart around? Who else is going to have the softest little face ? No one.
I just can’t believe it. I don’t understand, Why have 2 of my beautiful girls gone in the space of a couple of weeks. I feel like I’m going to explode.
I’m so sorry Lottie. I am SO sorry. I miss you so much. Say hello to Mary for me.

I am so sorry Hannah. No one could do more for their piggies than you do. It's devastating to lose one so young, sadly it was her turn, there was nothing more you could do. Sending you hugs.

Oh Hannah I'm so sorry. Sometimes the call of the Rainbow Bridge is too strong and they just have to go. She will take all the love you gave her to the Rainbow Bridge.

BIG HUGS

I am so very sorry for the huge shock. Sadly piggies can die out of the blue at any time of life. It is difficult to make sense of it all when you haven't got the first clue of what could have gone wrong. :(

There is nothing you have done wrong; it is most likely a genetic time bomb going off. I've lost the odd younger piggy that way, too. It is always so much harder for me to make peace with their loss.
Walking away from it will take longer because you are left with much stronger feelings of failure and guilt, and it 'not being right'; give yourself that time and be gentle with yourself. Remind yourself of the good memories because for guinea pigs it is the happy todays that count and not the length of life - so you have not failed Lottie in any way as far as she would see it.

It is often the big personalities that die young; they seem to fit their life time's allowance into a shorter space... but they leave the kind of special memories that warm your heart and make you smile in the really dark times some years down the line.

It’s such a shock when a piggy goes without any apparent reason.
You gave Lottie a wonderful life and the best care.

Such very sad news Hannah. I’m so sorry you’ve had such a run of bad luck. I truly believe that sometimes good people are destined to have animals for a short amount of time because those animals deserve the greatest quality of life for whatever time they have. You are one of those special people Hannah. It’s painful I know but please remember that Lottie had the best of the best. Quality of life outweighs quantity any day . Sleep tight Lottie . You were a lucky girl to have such a special mum

It's so hard when you lose piggies so close to each other. I lost my 2 boys 13 months ago within 3 days of each other. It took me while to get over. Be gentle with yourself as grieve.
