Hello there hoomans of the piggy forum,

It's the Hutch A Good Life piggies here. Now with Valentine's Day coming up whee are creating a couple of Love themed blog posts including one about funny things to do with Mummy bringing male hoomans home and how their reactions to us and our reactions to them decided where that relationship was going.

Now, whee are wondering if you have any funny stories about when your OH met your piggies. Please tell us in a few lines and whee will include the best ones in the post.

My husband likes my piggies, he knew about them long before he first met them. He gives them their supper every night, and they adore him ;)

@Julesie I have to say some friendships were make or break with the meeting of my piggies! The friend that screamed rat and kicked her flip flop at their cage is actually an ex-friend now. The look Buddy gave me when she did it just said "Seriously? Is this girl for real?!"

I was given a cage and nagged hubby til he said I could get one. When I went to the pet shop ( don't judge me, did ask around but no-one new of any rescues) came home with two as some older ones had been brought into the pet shop for rehoming. My reasoning was two cost what one would have cost and they can't live alone.6 months later have 8 that live in c&c cages that fill the spare room.I am spoilt. He tolerated them at first but had to hand feed my texel due to a head tilt and he fell in love.Unfortunately we lost her but since then he watches the others and points out funny things they do.He even had the kids cleaning out and feeding when I was struggling after losing mum. They are irresistible

Wow really?! I would have stopped being friends too! >>
The one that annoyed me most wasn't my friend but her husband. He told me they should be fed to the dog. I was SO angry. He thought it was hilarious.

Thought it was hilarious?! Grrr. I would absolute consider that a flip flop throwing worthy offense! He would have felt the pointy end of my shoe as I kicked him out the door. No one messes with my babies! ^_^

Yeah, he'd mention snippy comments like that whenever he was round. I really hate him for a ton of reasons but adding that just made me want to kick him down the stairs. ><

M OH and I got our piggies together, so no problem at all there, we had been together for a while when we got them. But when Patch ended up getting pregnant, I tolf people on a different, forum (not guinea-pig related) and the title of the thread was "Pregnant" and for some reson, I hadn't put it in the pet section, so before reading about Patch they thought it was me!

My husband went to the pet shop to get budgie food and fell in love with our guinea Edward as he was on his own and started popcorning when he bent down to talk to him .When I got home from work he told me to go in our bedroom as there was a surprise, believe me after 27 years the best thing I expected was that he had took the wood chip wallpaper off at last so Edward was a lovely shock.

That Is so romantic x

My hubby bought me my first guinea for Christmas which he regrets now as i am upto 12 at present. He's said I'm not allowed anymore :( but I'll bet if I end up coming home late and he's making the tea he'll say ive given them some veggies when I get home

Hubby says I'm not allowed any more.We Will see.Had six and lost one so hubby said get two more so we don't end up in same situation.Only one available and got her but got two more after that using his argument against him.muhahahaha

I kind of talked FI into getting guinea pigs as he'd never really considered them as pets before. I think he had some bad luck with hamsters when he was a kid and was a bit gunshy about getting another small furry pet.
Now, you can't get him away from them. He won't thank me for putting this photo here but he goes straight to them when he comes home from work to speak to them before I even getting any attention:soz:.

We're actually quite gutted that we're not able to include them in our wedding, actually. I think the noise and the revellers with scare the bejesus out of them but we're considering having little guinea pigs on our cakes or pictures of them by the guest book to include them on our special day.

That's so sweet! Maybe take cardboard cut outs of them to include in the photos? Or get some photos done professionally on your wedding day with them?
