Junior Guinea Pig
My first look at Mylo was coming across his picture on a rescue website.

I won't lie, his beautiful wife Tia caught my eye at first. Look at that floof! Upon meeting them though, Mylo immediately captured my heart. He lay in my arms like he belonged nowhere else and it was love at first sight. I like to say that he picked me.
Even with a shy start, Mylo blossomed. It wasn't long before he was begging us for food at all hours, even louder than bossy Tia! When we rescued little Berry and introduced her to them, he became the best piggy Dad.

They'd zoom round the cage for ages while old lady Tia watched on. Getting them to stay still for even a minute was a challenge. The happy trio became a full fledged herd when we added two more girls in the form of Umbra and Edelgard. It was an interesting bonding experience, with Mylo determined to show them he was the ultimate boss but when they calmed down they became the best of friends.
He truly was the best of pigs. The only one that was allowed to snuggle into Tia, the best pig for zooming with the young ones. He gained so much in confidence over the year and a half that we had him. Far too short a time.
Shortly before he passed we started a routine of him eating veg with me every evening to make sure he got enough. He'd munch next to me and let me know when he was done as I'd suddenly have a head bopping me and claws trying to climb into my lap where'd he'd settle for a short nap. Such a cheeky chap.

I can't believe he's been taken so soon. My heart is broken into a million pieces. I'd give anything to spend more time snuggled with you. It was too short a time, but you brought so much love and life into my world and I'm forever thankful. I cherish all the memories I got to make with you. I hold tight to me that you didn't suffer and that you're now prancing over the rainbow bridge. Rumblestrut at all those girls who are trying to boss you around and eat all the cucumber and pea flakes you want. I'll remember and love you forever.
Goodbye Mylo. My little prince. The first pig I truly loved. My baby.
