About 6 months ago I ordered some Timothy hay from Timothy hay.co.uk and was very pleased with it but decided to try a different supplier for my next lot as I want something fresh and yummy for Baxter bunny after his op.

A lot of people here recommended hay and Straw.co.uk and today I received a 4.5kg bag of gorgeous meadow hay. It smells amazing, so sweet and is lovely and green. Beatrix the Bunny was digging straight in and I'm sure Baxter will as well.

Thanks for the update, it’s always helpful to hear good recommendations for hay

I’ve just checked the website - they come in 2.5 or 4.5 kilo bags.
There’s a few varieties and the price for the larger bag is £14 which looks like good value.

Looks great. Have you got a picture of the bag @Eileen's Mum ? I'd like to see how big it is before I order?

This is the bag in a 33l storage box for size reference. It's quite compact, not loosely filled so there is more than it looks

They do a 9.5kg bag as well for £18. I got that size before and found it hard to store so went for half the size this time. I think it's only £18 for the large one.

I've never tried the Meadow hay from there before, have got the Ings hay before but can be very hit and miss. I may try some of the meadow hay and see what the pigs think!

I wasn't sure when I first took delivery as it didn't look super green but as soon as I opened the bag the sweet smelled filled the living room and once I ripped the hay apart it was lovely and green inside. Sadly my rubbish camera phone doesn't show up the colour very well! I am so sick of buying dry, brown, dusty meadow hay but this is a huge improvement.
