Hey everyone :D

I am wanting to grow a herb or 2 for my boys as a healthy treat, but I know some can be high in calcium. So does anyone know which to avoid and which are the lowest in calcium?

Thanks!

That's a great idea and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
I know that parsley is great for vitamin c but very high in calcium.
Thyme is a favourite of my boys but is high in essential oils.
Coriander is great for daily feeding, it's quite low in calcium, high vitamin c and is a favourite of many. Mine get bored with it so I sneak it in every few weeks to see if they like it again.
Basil is another top herb but I'm not sure of the calcium/vitamin balance. I guess everything is good in small doses :)

coriander can be fed daily. you can grow parsley, basil, thyme, mint, but feed them less often than coriander :)

I feed coriander daily too. If you have an Indian supermarket near you you can get it really cheap. Mine has 2 huge bunches for between £1 and £1.50.

Mine love coriander but I buy it in the pots and it never lasts I may just start buying bunches.

How much celery do you feed per pig Helen? Just a rough idea. When I put some coriander in the bowl it never looks like much!

Mine are on a special diet so I try to limit them to a sprig per pig each end of the day but with herds it doesn't always work like that.

Our local Morrisons also does huge bunches of fresh coriander, which my lads wolf down. About 80p a bunch.
