Ludwig And His Favourite Food.

I was looking through photos to put over Ludwigs ashes today in memory of him and found this photo of him and his favourite food.

Inside the box was pellets. They were his favourite food in the world. His cage mate was no longer allowed to eat them but Ludwig was nuts about them. He went insane and broke out of his cage once I banned them then broke into the pellet bag to eat them once out. So I used to bring him down every day and let him eat a few pellets.

The day of this photo he climbed into the flap of the box, sat curled inside the box eating them, staring out at me. Once he was sufficiantely full, he climbed out, curled up next to it and fell asleep (eyes closed). I never managed to get the photo of them closed, but here he is with them open not long before falling asleep.

The memory of this day always makes me laugh.

I did try and take him out a few times but he kept crawling back inside. :))

Awww, those pictures are absolutely adorable! I love the idea of Ludwig helping himself at the all-you-can-eat buffet, and then settling down for a well-deserved nap! He must have been a very special boy.

Oh he really was. He was my little soul piggie. =) He was a huge mummas boy and didn't really care about any of the other guinea pigs. I used to call him my little shadow as wherever I went he would follow me. I dearly miss him. He passed far too early.

I love your picture cuddled with your piggie. I really regret having my head cut off on all the ones with me and Ludwig.
 
Aww Ludwig. He really loved pellets! It is so cute the way he broke out of the cage to get them. What a special boy he was.

Thank you. He was. :) When he put his mind to something he would do whatever he could to make sure he had it. :))

"Soul piggie" - what a beautiful term, thankyou for that! It perfectly describes that extra strong bond we sometimes are privileged to have with a piggie. The downside is the even more huge hole in our heart when they pass away. It is so sweet that Ludwig used to follow you around, he must have had such love for and trust in you!
 
Oh such a little cutie! So sad that he's over the bridge. Looks like he had such a huge character for such a small fluff ball :)

Thank you. :) It really does. I only had him for just over two years, he was approaching his third year with me when sadly he passed away. He really went far too early but we had a bond since the beginning and I'm glad we had some time together. I've never felt such love over something before in my life. <3

He really was bless him. His cage mate has some of his personality in him but he's not quite the same. Still, Matthew helped me a lot when I was missing Ludwig as I saw some of the resemblances.

Thank you. ^_^ Oh yes he was like an addict when it came to his pellets. Bless his heart. It always makes me smile fondly remembering that time. I never had the heart to tell him off and instead stood there laughing. xD

We did. I hope to one day see him again in the far, far future when I eventually pass away. I think he will be the first pet of mine I will hug. =)

Thank you so much. He died at the end of May and I think about him every day.
I was lying in bed last night crying over the thought of it would be my first Christmas without him. That's why my display picture is him from last xmas.
