Lump By Grease Gland

Hi everyone

Have tried to look around but can't really find an answer but noticed Friday our Guinea pig had a hard lump on his grease gland. Was slightly red so we put some coconut oil on it and bathed him and the redness has now gone. Any ideas what it could be? There was no grease built up on it, but I won't lie, I do keep an eye on that area, but unfortunately it was a little while since I cleaned it - I know I have done wrong. We are making a vets appointment for him tomorrow. Have attached a picture (hopefully).

Good that you are getting it seen, as your vet can decide what really is and treat accordingly! Wishing you all the best and hoping that it easy to get on top of.

As far as lumps go, you can only guess over the internet. It could be a cyst of some, an abscess etc.
 
Yeah that's what i was thinking. He doesn't seem bothered by it, even with me touching it and looking. Hopefully we will get an idea tomorrow.
