My guinea pig Harry died about three weeks ago. He had a lump on his leg that was quite big for months before but he seemed fine and wasn’t in pain. Was it the lump that caused his death?

Unfortunately without a post mortem it is impossible to say what caused his death.
Had the lump been seen by a vet?

no it didn’t get seen because he was old and I was worried he would get stressed from the car journey

They generally handle car journeys well if they have their friend with them and some food, but vet treatment is essential for any such issue regardless of the stress of a journey

Yes however Harry was super nervous and since it wasn’t hurting him and he was eating and playing normally I assumed after looking it up that it was one that would do him no harm.

Sadly as piggies hide their pain, assuming it’s nothing harmful is problematic, and looking things up online is not safe as lumps in piggies vary widely in their cause.
