I look onr of my older sow called Roxy into the vets today for a wee check up. Her tummy has been feeling a little tough. The vet said she does have a lump towards her bum. I have booked her in for an xray.

The vet did say it could be cysts in her ovaries but the lump wouldnt normally be that far back. You can feel the lump from underneath and sort of near her back legs.

I dont know if anyone has had this before in a Gpig, kinda expexting the worst and hoping for the best. I do think after the xray i will be given bad news because after an xray i have never had a piggy come back home.

Roxy does seem fine in herself. Eating, drinking, jumping, running. Peeing, poopin machine. (I know Gpigs hide there illnesses but other than her size i dont really have any worries about her)

Poor Roxy. Hope the x-ray goes ok. Is the lump very far inside or is it on the surface? If it's a surface one then it can be pricked with a syringe to test what's in it (usually a vet will do this if they suspect a sebeacous cyst or abscess). Fingers crossed it's nothing sinister for Roxy

It is quite far in, not really on the surface. I am just worried I'm gonna lose her.

I thought it must be if your vet wanted to x-ray as a first test. Fingers crossed it's nothing sinister

I know i didnt keep this updated. Sorry but we went for an xray, booked in for surgery, but unfortunately Roxy had to get put down. It was a big tumour that has her intestines wrapped around it and stuck to it. Unfortunately the vets said they could operate on her and there is a big chance she wouldnt wake up. So we sadly lost her.
