Lump near eye

Hello. Just joined.
Our 18 month old sow has a lump/cyst near her eye. It was a tiny pimple size thing for a long time and had been there more or less since we got her but has recently grown in proportion. Doesn’t seem to be bothering her but it’s bothering me that she might be uncomfortable. The vets are doing phone consultations only so thinking to wait it out until they are fully open again and she can be seen. Anyone any idea what this could be? Many thanks.

I would call the vet for some guidance especially now it's growing as, if it continues to do so, it won't be long before she is uncomfortable and may need additional care

Maybe you could email the pic to the vet and have a phone consultation?

I agree about sending the vet a photo - if it is growing and is more uncomfortable it may need more urgent attention eg to remove it before it bursts. Vets are able to do surgery to prevent suffering and to treat animals in discomfort so I would give them a call and ask if you can send photos.

I would contact your vet & ask if you can send in the pictures for them to check it too.

It looks similar to my Orca's sebaceous cyst on her forehead, that started out as a tiny pimple, it stayed the same for a couple of years, then started growing quite a bit over a few months.
She now has a big 'pea' sized lump on her forehead that needs a little cleaning out about every 4-6wks.

They put a syringe in her lump to take a sample of the contents & this provides a neat little scab to pick off to squeeze some gunk out of (this is only done on my vets suggestion). Orca gets irritated by it when it gets close to cleaning it time so I guess the pressure builds up & it must get painful?

But that looks very close to her eye, so the vet might consider removing the lump to prevent further problems.

Best to get the vets opinion as to the urgency of it with our current 'distancing' problems.
