Lump On Face

Me neither :( Unless the food has been caught on a rough tooth or some other reason :( Baytril is harsh on the tummy, you need to give some probiotic after an hour or so to balance his guts. Emeprid is metoclopramide which helps the movement of the gut. I think @Stewybus 's vet prescribes a gut stimulant as well when they are on Baytril, see what he says. I would still get him in to see Simon next week, he will be able to take a proper look at what is going on in the mouth, it's not known for Guinea pigs to store food in their mouths at all.
I'll give the emeprid as well then and yes I will get a second opinion from Simon.Ive just sent my friend to get some pro c from pets at home lol and I'll still be weighing him daily for the time being.

If food has been trapped in the mouth long enough to cause an infection, then there is clearly a issue with the teeth. Sorry but this doesn't sound at all right to me and I still think it is going to be an abscess. Baytril is useless for dealing with something like this. Get Simon to take a look x

Thanks so much for your reply , I didn't think it sounded right.Ill definitely get an appointment with Simon.

I've got Guiseppe booked in the cat and rabbit clinic tomorrow so I'll let you know what they say.The lump seems to have gone down but I noticed a horrible smell when I put my face near his mouth.Does that sound consistent with an abscess @furryfriends (TEAS) ? Also his eye is still very weepy.

@Gem789 Abscesses have an awful smell so it's pretty likely that is what it is.

Simon is the best though so he'll help out tomorrow.

Oh dear poor wee thing, good luck for tomorrow - really hope that you get some answers and on the right course of treatment.

Sending healing vibes.

Yes it does, but Simon will work his magic, I'm sure xx

How did you get on with seeing Simon today? x
He could only find a very small lump on the side of his face which he thought might be tissue damage so I'm to keep an eye on it to see if it gets bigger again and if it does to bring him back in.To be honest I hope he doesn't think I was over worrying cos I felt a bit silly that it doesn't seem to be an abscess.Hes on metacam just in case as when Simon was feeling his face he did squeak a bit x
