Lump on foot - still unsure what it is

I posted a little while ago about a small, hard white lump on Nelson's toe. Well, Nelson was at the vets today (for something unrelated) and she initially thought that it might be a cyst, so she put some local anaesthetic on it to try and draw out whatever was inside, but couldn't get anything. She said that it seemed reminiscent of gout, but that she had never heard of a piggy having gout and didn't even think it was possible. So we're still none the wiser! Has anyone experienced something similar with their piggy?

Sorry but I have no idea what this could be - maybe some anti-inflammatory medication such as Metacam would help ?

Perhaps research arthritis etc. Piggies can be treated successfully

Thank you! I shall do some more research on gout and take it with me when we go back

Nelson already takes 0.1ml of metacam daily as he has arthritis and problems with his legs, although its currently increased to twice daily as he's had some dental treatment today.
