Lump on guinea pigs head.

Hi, I found quite a large lump on my crested guinea pigs head, right at the top just in front of her crest but before her face. This lump is quite large , but unnoticeable you can only feel it. Just wondering what it's likely to be in this position?

It's always best to get lumps and bumps checked by a vet. There so many different things they can be!

Oh yes, I will be. But am wondering what it's likely to be in this position? Cyst, abscess etc...

It’s hard for us to say what it could be. Could be a harmless fatty lump, could be an abscess could be something else. Best to let a vet diagnose and treat x

I have had all manner of different lumps pop up on piggies over the years.
A vet check is really the only way to know exactly what is is, but most of the time they are very treatable if seen early enough.

It sounds like a cyst, but get it removed soon or the vet will struggle to have enough skin to close it. Many years ago, I had a piggy who needed a cyst removing from top of head. It was tricky and immediately post op, he looked like he’d had a dodgy facelift! In no time at all the skin stretched and he looked normal again!
