Lump On Her Throat? :(

I think one of my piggies has a lump on her throat, its kinda under her chin. Ive only just noticed it the other day while holding her and I tried to tickle under her chin (shes never really liked me doing that) but I felt the lump. At the time I was feeding her veggies so I thought it was just her chewing and swallowing the food, but tonight me n my boyfriend looked at her, and you can actually see the lump. (he said she had a double chin :doh:) but I'm a little worried. I know I should take her to the vet but I was just wondering whether anyone else has ever had anything like this with their piggies?
 
It could be a harmless fatty lump but you are right to get it checked out by a vet.
 
I hope that's all it is :( it doesn't seem to hurt her or anything so that does make me feel a bit better, and it moves a bit when you have a feel of it and she doesn't seem to be bothered by it, I'm going to try and find a good cavy savvy vet in my area
 
Please try not to worry. Guinea pigs are prone to fatty lumps and they do not hurt.
 
I found a lump under one of my piggies' necks & it turned out to be an abscess which was removed with an operation. Please get it checked out by a vet :)
 
Definite vets visit as it could be one of a few things. Your vet will be able to tell you. Hopefully it is nothing serious, let us know how your piggie gets on.
 
I hope you guinea pig is okay, and best of luck at the vets, hopefully it's nothing too serious! :)
 
Yeah I'm gonna go tomorrow to get her booked in/see if they can squeeze me in there and then, will let you guys know.

Awww poor little girl, please let us know how she gets on. Fingers crossed for you. She is a beautiful piggie
 
Ok, been to the vets. Turns out she has 3 abscesses 2 really small ones and the obvious big one which I was initially concerned about. The vet used a needle to check it was an abscess n it is. She's on antibiotics and anti inflammatory. Going back on Tuesday. However she thinks she probably will need surgery, and one of the lumps is on the side on her face so she's concerned about getting to that one. Hoping this stuff will improve her lumps. I'm a bit upset
 
I can totally understand why you are upset. I would be too. Poor little baby. I really hope the medication can shrink the lumps.
