Hi guys,

Just after a nit of advice and wond ring if anyone had experienced similar. I've only had my girls for about 2 months and they're slowly getting more comfortable with handling and grooming. I was giving Mavis a bit of a bum cut tonight and noticed a lump. It almost looks like a scan which can be squeezed but obviously I'm not about to try this. She's eating fine and does get slightly fidgety when I'm touching the lump but no yelping or squealing and she doesn't try to struggle away.

I'm obviously concerned and will take her to a vet early next week but I've no idea what it could be :(

Any advice appreciated.

I wouldn’t like to guess what it is, but if it isn’t growing in size, changing colour or causing discomfort then I am sure it can wait til next week for the vets to check it over. It could just be a bit of a cyst.

Thank you for your reply, I don't expect a full diagnosis from a picture, don't worry! I'll keep an eye on it over the weekend, it makes me feel a bit better as it appears to be more on the skin that under if that makes sense? The skin under the lump is nice and soft. But it's very odd so I may get a vet's opinion next week to be on the safe side. She's currently stuffing her face with hay so I'm not as concerned as I could be :)

I had something similar suddenly appear on one of my girls a while ago. It was a benign cyst, but gave me plenty to worry about at the time. We just left well alone (on the vet’s advice).
