Hey guys,
I noticed a few weeks ago that Midnight's fur was sticking g out under his neck. I honestly thought he was just getting fat. Today, I looked at it again and its a lump. I've done some research, and I think it's an absess. He's still learning and drinking fine, acting normally. The lump is soft and moves around if you touch it. It doesn't seem to cause him pain. I immediately made a vet appointment for him but I am worried about the cost. Any advice?

Forgot to mention that in the last few daysnhes had a crusty nose. I took him to the vet in the beginning of the summer for the same issue and the vet determined he had allergies, so I attributed this to his allergies.

It could be a swollen lymph nobe caused by an infection.

Costs certainly can vary depending on what is wrong and what diagnostics are needed. Take it one step at a time, first step is seeing the vet and they will take you through the next steps.

Hope your little one makes a swift recovery.

Thanks so much! I'm pretty worried so I hope he's okay too!

If it is soft it doesn't necessarily sound like an abscess to me but am not a vet. See what they say, as Flintstones has said it could be him fighting off an infection. If it does turn out to be an abscess the best antibiotic is either Zithromax or Marbocyl.
