After Archie had his op just over a month ago, I was monitoring the wound closely and all healed well, the tissue was all sealed. When I went on holiday on the 7th of December all he had were 2 little scars and it looked perfect. Now I have come back, a little later then I had hoped, and I have noticed that where his right testicle was he now has a hard lump. I can't see signs of infection, it doesn't seem to cause him pain and it's not hot or red. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I'm going to book him in to the vets as soon as I can to get him looked at, but was just wondering if it could be anything other than an infection/abscess.

It may be a suture reaction, but i would get it checked if your worried. I would have thought suture would have just about dissolved all by now?

sorry, not a lot of help.

It could be the beginnings of an abscess; they are one of the most frequent problem after a neutering operation.

Please have Archie seen by your vet. you are a very caring owner and I am sure that you've caught any problem early.

Thanks Wiebke. I will get him looked at as soon as possible :)
He didn't have sutures, it was glued and has healed really well, which is why I was surprised when I found the lump :{. Thanks anyway :) I'll make an appointment with the vet now.
