Lump on the jaw area

I found a lump on Momo’s right jaw area which is hard as a bone. He is eating OK and the lump seems not to bother him even when touched.

I intended to bring him to the vet ASAP but the earliest appointment I can get with Elena in Ilford (who is highly recommended by many forum members) is Friday am.

Alternatively, I can go for Animal Ark on Tuesday am — which is also on the forum’s recommendation list — but I saw from Google Review that the quality of this practice has deteriorated rapidly since the change in ownership last year. Have anyone been to Animal Ark in Goodmayes recently? Do you recommend this practice?

I feel more confident with Elena but I am trying to make the judgement on whether I should get Momo see a vet immediately anyway, or I should get him straight to a trusted exotic vet at a delay.

Hello. I’ve had a piggy with a tooth root abscess which started with a small hard lump which then ballooned to 4cm!

If Momo is eating fine I’d leave it until Friday. But keep a close eye on his eating and weight.

I’m sorry to hear this.
Weigh him daily so you can be sure he is eating enough hay and maintaining his weight. If he is, and he is otherwise happy and not in any pain etc, then I would wait for the vet you most trust.
