I've just noticed a small lump on Toast's back, kind of just up from the tailbone and to the left if that makes sense.

It's about the size of a raisin I'd say. I've had a look at the skin and there isn't any redness or scab, it's under the skin. I've moved it about a bit and it doesn't seem to be bothered her really.

Should I be making an appointment for tomorrow or is that over reacting given the size of it? should I just see if it comes to anything first?

With Toast I have to be very careful about choosing to take her to the vets, she is so anxious and gets so distressed that it causes her to get painful cystitis and severe bloat every time which then puts her off her food causing an even bigger issue...

If it is loose under skin, then it is most like just a harmless sebaceous cyst. Keep an eye on it, but if is not growing quickly, then just have it seen at her next regular appointment. ;)

Thank you. I was kind of poking it and it felt soft ish, as opposed to a solid lump if that makes sense... I really worry with Toast as she has so many problems but I don't take her to the vets now unless absolutely necessary as it makes her so ill.

Would a sebaceous cyst grow quickly/at all?

It depends on the cyst! They can fill up quite quickly. If you are worried see the vet for reassurance. For what it's worth I do think it sounds like a cyst.

Just keep an eye on it.

If it stays roughly the same, then there is no urgency; if it keeps growing, then it needs to be seen; the sooner the quicker it is growing.
