Please can anybody tell me what this is? I am trying to get through to the vets to book emergency appointment. I am so worried. Is it dangerous? Can it wait a few hours until a vet can check?

it reminds me of chesney's sebaceous cyst that he had. hard to know though with lumps until they're checked over. hopefully the vet can take sample from it tomorrow. x

Thank you. I held her only yesterday so I am shocked I did not notice it then.

they do like to hide things! chesney's lump didn't have blood but would have done if it had burst. the vet took a sample from it for testing and told me what to do if it did burst. mainly don't panic! :)) and i could clean it with hibiscrub and then contact him. because knowing me i would have panicked, rushed ches in, and then panicked some more. :))

i hope the lump is nothing more serious. x

I could be wrong but it looks like it could be a burst cyst or a burst abscess but I expect a burst abscess would produce pus and smell bad.

Erin had a cyst lanced and drained and afterwards, it looked similar to that although the lump deflated like a deflated balloon. A clear liquid came out but there was a tiny bit of blood like that where the cyst has been popped.

If you are concerned about it becoming infected, mix one pint of cooled boiled water with a teaspoon of salt and gently bathe using cotton wool. I use water from the kettle.

I hope all goes well tomorrow x

I am so worried about it. An abscess will mean she is suffering. She does not mind when it is touched. There was drops of blood on the vetbed were it bled.

Try and stay calm. If she was suffering, you would know about it as as wouldn't be eating and would be very quiet.

Erin had her cyst for quite a few months until it became rock hard and bigger which is when my vet decided to drain it. It started as a fatty lump and turned in to a cyst. But she was never bothered by it in all that time not even when the vet drained it and it looked similar to that.

Just keep an eye on her for the rest of the night. Obviously I can't be sure on what the lump but you would definitely know if she was suffering and I really don't think that she will be x

Big hugs, try not to worry ( I know this is easier said than done) Good news she is eating, I can't tell who it is Amina or Sophie perhaps? Let us know how she gets on at the vets tomorrow. Love to your little girl and a big virtual hug to you Gigi x

It is Sophie. I should check them over not just hold them then I would have seen the lump. The lump is on the inside of the upper thigh.

Well you will never guess what it is. A piece of hay! A piece of hay was stuck inside her skin. The vet removed it and squeezed the lump. Poor Sophie was in pain with that. The lump has gone and she will be on baytril for a week. The vet shaved the hair around it so it is easier to clean.

I have ordered fibreplex from Amazon which says next day delivery. Can I give her the baytril or should I wait until the fibreplex comes?

She will be fine just on the baytril honey! If you dont have any pro-biotics, dont forget about poo soup!

Loving vibes to little Sophie and hugs to you! xx

Oh that is odd. Personally I would give the Baytril, I thnk there can be a couple of days grace with it. Wish had known yesterday as we have loads of Avipro and I could have got the OH to meet you in London and give you some.

Aww that is so sweet of you!

So pleased it has been sorted, The baytril will ward off any infection. Love to Sophie x
