My 2 year old Boar has a lump that’s been slowing growing since last November and I brought him to the Vet to get it checked out the moment I noticed it and they ran their test and it came out to be a NON- CANCEROUS tumor. They didn’t give me anything for him . They just sent us home the same day and told me just to keep an eye on it to see if it progesses or if I notice any changes within my buddyšŸ„ŗšŸ’” just a few days a day I noticed like a scratch of some sort on it so I assumed he just probably scratched the lump so I did leave it alone after I checked it. But the next day I looked at it again and it had a head with puss already coming out… now I’m not a doctor but no tumor is going to leak puss… And now it’s created a hole with just white puss covering the hole. He does have an appointment September 16th at 230pm but I am so anxious and scared I have no idea what it might be can someone please help!

It’s good you’ve for an appointment. all lumps need a hands on check since they can be a multitude is things - it could be a cyst which is now bursting for example.
Sometimes lumps need to be removed surgically to stop them refilling but your vet will need to determine what is going on

Keep it clean for the time being.
Make sure you switch to daily weight checks so you can ensure your piggy is still eating enough hay (hay intake can’t be gauged by eye but a piggy in any discomfort can stop eating enough)

A lump that ruptures and is leaking pus/fluid may well be a cyst or an abscess, a vet visit will help to clarify which. If it smells awful, I would put my money on an abscess, if not I would be more apt to suspect a cyst. Where on his body is the lump? Has it affected his eating/drinking/activity level? I would switch to weighting him daily while you wait for his appointment to make sure he's maintaining his weight. Hopefully the vet can give you some more guidance after a hands-on exam.

The lump is on his sort of his bum.. He’s eating his food and bag regularly.. he even still runs and popcorns when he hears his bag of food or hay even a bag of chips! He’ll eat immediately when I give him food and he’s drinking water regular. I really haven’t seen him minimize his eating or drinking since he’s been with the lump.

That’s really good but do note it’s impossible to monitor adequate hay intake by eye which is why the routine weekly (switching to daily when there are health concerns) weight checks are so important.
If there is a change of more then 50g in his weight then you have to prepare to step in with syringe feeding. With any luck he is still eating well and the lump isn’t affecting his appetite but it is possible that it can

thank you I really appreciate your help! There’s not many exotic Vets out here so it’s like sometimes I feel as if I’m watching my butter just suffer. If I had one wish it’s to personally know a veterinarian! šŸ˜ž

It's good that you are monitoring it closely. It will need a course of antibiotics I would think. Weight is an important baseline which will tell you things about piggy before his behaviour does. It is good to track it on a daily basis. Poor boy ā¤ The health care guidelines on here are great as doing a course of antibiotics (if your vet decided he needs them) can be complicated. I hope he gets better quickly 🐾

The good news is that if it's not on his face it's a lot less likely to interfere with eating. Some pigs get sebaceous cysts and things like that (I had one pig get a cyst around the grease gland.) Definitely see the vet but fingers crossed it's more of a superficial skin issue than anything else.
