Hello! I am new to this and need help urgently. My guinea pig is around 5 years old and he has a large lump with a scab in the middle. A while back we took him into a vet and they said it could be cancer. They have him a drug to take care of it and it got semi-better. It came back though and isn’t looking good please help!

@Paddington_piggy It looks like it could be a sebaceous cyst to me. Although they aren't usually a problem and can be left alone once they get to a size where they hinder a pig then they need to be dealt with.

I'm not sure if you want to use the same vet which diagnosed it as cancer or try a new one.

One of my past boars had one on his side and we opted for surgery, but your vet may opt to try emptying it first to see if it comes back.

He really does need to see a vet as it looks quite painful.
We have a vet locator on the green bar at the top of the page, so if you type in your postcode it will help you find an experienced piggy vet.

Alternatively you could tell us your rough location and members may be able to offer advice.
