Hello everyone.
I’m new here! I found this lump on my male 10 month old.
Does anyone know what it is?
It’s soft ish, 50p size & raised.
Warm to touch and painful I think .
Have vet booked for Saturday
Thankyou

Hi and welcome to the forum. Lumps can be a number of things so it's great you have a vets appointment and they will be able to examine and may well take a sample from the lump. It could be an abscess (especially if it's come out of no where very quickly), a cyst, a fatty lump or something more sinister

From my time on the forum most lumps tend to be abscesses or cysts which are fairly easy to treat when caught early or fatty lumps which are harmless. Best of luck at the vets

Hope it’s nothing serious.
I’m treating an abscess in one of my girls at the moment.
It’s not serious but not fun to deal with.

Let us know how you get on.
Welcome to the forum and do let us see lots of pics of the piggies

If you want to add your location (even just country) it helps if advice is needed.

Hi, Thankyou :) sorry to hear yours has an abscess. What are you doing to treat it? Did you go to the vet?
Ok thanks for the tip, I’ll add my details .
I’ve only had my 2 for 4 weeks. They were a gift for my daughters birthday. They are very skittish. I got father & son! Will post some pics 😀

Looking forward to the pictures
Jemimah’s abscess is being treated with an antibiotic- Baytril, and being washed out with a Hibiscrub solution.
It’s working and we’re back to the vet on Monday for a follow up.

I always take mine to the vet with any concern.
As they said, it’s easier to deal with if an issue is caught early and they’d rather see an owner when nothing is wrong rather than risk something being overlooked.

Hope everything goes well at the vets tomorrow.
Keep us posted

Thankyou for your reply. How is your ones abscess clearing up?
Mine ended up being a haematoma :( and may take months to go down. My daughter dropped him & he caught side of cage. Can’t believe he bruised like that.
