Lump

Hi

My guinea pig pippa has had a lump on her side for 4-5 years, its never caused her any problems.

However this weekend, i noticed that all the fur covering the lump has fallen / come out, the lump appears to be getting bigger, however she is still bright alert and happy in herself, if not eating a little less than normal

With the current covid restrictions my vet is not seeing animals, and has asked me to email pics in (which I already have) but it may take afew days to get a reply.

I have checked her over and can not see any forms of lice / mites / flees and the hair loss is ONLY over the area of the lump. She is now 6 1/2 years old, so not a young piggy.

any one have any idea's?

If you are dealing with a runaway lump, please contact your vets as soon as they open.

Any lump can suddenly blow up (harmless cysts, fatty lumps, abscesses tumours etc.) but when they do, they need to be dealt with as soon as possible. This counts as emergency treatment.

I would get her seen by a vet as soon as you can. Any lump that has grown or changed needs looking at as soon as possible.

I have been in contact with my vets before posting on here, they are not dealing with face to face appointments, so I have sent them the email photographs I posted in here, I have just phoned them to see if they have looked at my message and they have not yet. I tried to make her an appointment at the different vets my dogs are registered at, but they are too busy to see her .

The vet she is registered with do not seem to be in any rush, just gotten off the phone with them, and said I would like some advice, hope to hear something soon
